A Brush of Life #1

SQUEEEEEE!!!! I'm still pinching myself!!! I had posted some photos of my practice sheets from the Life Scripted class at Studio Calico on Instagram and one of my scrapping peeps said he wanted them in cards... so I ended up doing some more creating and and playing with my brush and with cups and yummy gouache... and then sifted through 100s of practice sheets to create a bunch of cards... I asked my dear friend, Ru, if she was interested in doing a collaboration with me and she immediately said "yes"!!! We went back and forth with trying to figure out what we wanted to do with it and ended up deciding to do a black and white set... mine with the brushes from my practice sheets and hers with her style of pattern and then adding brushes over the top of them to make room for journaling or just to mat photos... I'm so blown away with how it turned out... soooo much better than what I had envisioned and we both had a blast being free to just create and have fun and not worry about if it totally flops or not... I just wanted to grant a wish... sooooo this is how it turned out and I'm sooooo in love with it!!! I can see myself using this over and over and over again!!! (click images for full credits)

and here are my pages using them... I like blending them into other cards or papers...

and I just HAD to share these layouts from my dear friend Dalis, who I love so much! She helped me narrow down my choices of cards to include in this set and I totally love the black and white layout with the pop of color from the flowers and that cutie who we miss soooo much...

and my awesome fellow SugarBabe Trish, who totally RAWKS the mixed media pocket style and I sooo adore her bright and bold personality and it totally shows in this selfie layout...
