Scrappin' Saturday

I've had such a blast working on our wedding album this week... I cut the title of this one with the Silhouette, using the Marketing Script font and I printed out 8.5X11 papers by Ju Kneipp to stack behind and cut the doily and butterflies out of those papers using Mari's cutting files... I've been enjoying an "art class" over at 2Peas and the first lesson was on using stencils... so I used stencils and mist and gesso along the right hand edge.

and these are the digital pages I created this week... Rachel and Tangie had their fun Shine Within project pieces this week and Just Jaimee had her new storytelling collection over at TLP and then of course I couldn't resist doing some ballet pages with all the millions of pictures I took last weekend. I'm kinda in love with Lynne-Marie's tattered hole templates :)

Wedding Album - Title Page

Oh goodness... Mark and I have been married for almost 12 years and I had started a Creative Memories album years ago, but never finished it... I had won a nice paper prize package from Elle's Studio and Paper Issues and decided to use a bit of it to tackle finishing up this album. I must say that I'm have a blast, though I'm totally giggling at some of my old layouts in this album LOL.

I cut up the Creative Memories albums and put them in a 3 ring album with page protectors... I had purchased the digital Project Life wedding mini kit and will be re-coloring the cards and printing them to match the colors of our wedding better. I'm super excited and can't wait to finish up this album.

The cool thing was that 2Peas had a new challenge up from Glitter Girl and it was to tackle a wedding album and I went straight at it. Here is the title page I created... I can't wait to share more of the pages with you as I get going on it...

Wall Art For My Craft Area

I did this as part of the portfolio challenges over at Sweet Shoppe Designs and love having something a bit creative hanging on my wall next to my paints and buttons and other doo-dads... it's fun to look at and was fun to put together... I wrapped the embroidery hoop in woodgrain washi tape since it was a super cheap plastic hoop... and had fun cutting everything with the Silhouette and assembling it... I also used a bit of gesso behind the "create" alpha to make it pop and not blend in to the paper as much...

Happy Mother's Day

These got sent out a little late, but one of my goals right now is to be better at sending out cards and personal letters and notes... I've been really bad at it but it's something that I want to teach my kids to do too... so that means, I need to be that example of how important it is to send thank you notes and letters to the people we love... Nisa has these really cute mom quotes that had me totally cracking up and I thought this particular one was just too perfect for a Mother's Day card... I hope our Mom's love them... and sorry they're a bit late... they went out in the mail yesterday, so hopefully you'll get them early this week... I'm a procrastinator and one day I hope to be better about it, LOL... Today I get to watch my girly in her ballet recital with my family and couldn't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day than watching my sweet girl do what she loves so much and has worked hard for all year.

Scrappin' Saturday

I will admit that after last week, I'm a bit exhausted... I did however do one page this week and it wasn't a new release and I'm in love with it... Now that I'm finished with Asher's baby album, I'm going to work on our wedding/honeymoon album... it's only been almost 12 years, think it's about time I work on it LOL... I'm going to do mostly digital pages that I'll have printed and put in a page protector and then I bought the digital version of the Project Life Wedding Edition that I plan on recoloring and having printed to add to some pages too... I decided not to start a whole new album but to add to the Creative Memories album that we received as a wedding gift... so it will have old stuff and new stuff and somehow I'll alter it to include the new stuff... I'm excited to get it completed and have been scanning in photos and stuff and hope I remember enough to add in some of the details and journaling...

Here's the layout that I completed this week...
It's a Beautiful Life by Mari Koegelenberg
Make a Wish by Mari Koegelenberg and Studio Basic Designs (recolored arrows and folded paper flower)
